My Boyhood Days

My Boyhood Days by Rabindranath Tagore

The book "My Boyhood Days" is written by Rabindranath Tagore. Tagore is an accomplished author that many people look up to in order to provide them with knowledge of past generations, and is commonly a name that many high school and college age students will be familiar with because of the appeal that the books that Tagore writes has on people. Tagore has actually won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913 for his other famous book "Gitanjali", which varies considerably with the work of "My Boyhood Days".

Tagore's work "My Boyhood Days", is his second memoir that he has wrote about his childhood. In the book Tagore takes a detailed look at his life as a child and what drove him to become an accomplished poet. Such as the things that influenced him and how he used his childhood that was very much a prison for him because of the tyrannical dictatorship that his father instilled on him as a young child. However, unlike other memoirs out there, Tagore does not seem to pity himself for how his life was as a child or how unfair it was to grow up in the way that he did. Instead, he seems to embrace that those elements of his life have led him to where he is today, an awarding novelist.
