The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club begins with five high school students from different social groups, arriving to school on a Saturday morning to serve detention from 7 am to 4 pm for their irresponsible actions towards other classmates and towards the school itself. There’s the jock, wrestling star Andrew Clark; the most popular girl in school, Claire Standish; the all-brains, Brian Johnson; the juvenile delinquent, John Bender; and the basket case, Allison Reynolds. They are forced to report to a nasty, sarcastic teacher, Richard Vernon, and write an essay about who they think they are. In the duration of the day, they find themselves interacting with each other and eventually understanding each other;s dilemmas.They quickly realize that they have more in common than they imagined.None of them communicates well with their parents, all are under tremendous pressure from their peers, and they all dread the future, they fear they might grow up to become like their parents.
Claire Standish is a spoiled, shallow, teenage girl who is a member of the prep club in high school.Her father gives her whatever her heart desires despite her mother;s effort to instill some kind of discipline in her. She feels her parents use her to get back at each other. She is angry at her father because he can;t get her out of detention. Claire cut school to go shopping, and now she feels sorry for herself because she has to pay the price.
