The Death of a Salesman

The theatrical production, Death of a Salesman, was a well presented performance. The show's main characters were Willy and his son Biff.Willy is a 60 year old man who has been a traveling salesman throughout his whole life. His family feels that he is at an age, where he should not be traveling anymore.Willy has developed symptoms of thinking and acting in the past. The family was having trouble dealing with this problem and only wants the best for him. They want Willy to ask his boss for a salesman job in the area where he resided.Willy can not bring it up to himself to ask for a new position.Willy's son, Biff, was a child with hopes and aspirations of being a professional football player. The hopes and dreams were shattered when he was not able to graduate academically.Willy was never able to accept the fact that his son failed at something he was great at doing.
The main setting was the household of Willy and his family. It resembled greatly to the time period that they were in.The house contains two bedrooms and kitchen that was viewable from the audience.Willy's flashbacks are conducted off of the house stage and in front of the main stage.Music was played to tune in the audience that a flashback was occurring.Other settings that did not contain the house were rolled in by the stage crew. This did not hurt the overall performance of the play. The stage can only be so big, so bringing in scenery to represent other places was acceptable.
The actors performed magnificently to the theatrical performance.Expressions of the actors were portrayed brilliantly to the emotional scenes. For example, when Willy
goes into his flashbacks, the voices seem to jump out to the audience. The actions by the actors in the beginning of the flashback were calm and collect. As the flashback neared completion, the voices were louder representing the negative aspect of the flashback
